Carbon dioxide enrichment in the Mediterranean greenhouse
Abstract
In the Mediterranean area, greenhouse carbon dioxide enrichment is not too much applied, unlike the North-European countries where it is a common practice.
The main reason of this scarce use is the believe that it is not economic in these greenhouses.
On the contrary, the use of carbon dioxide fertilization in Mediterranean greenhouses can increase energy efficiency and help reduce the crop carbon footprint. The presentation will illustrate the advantages and drawbacks of the use of carbon dioxide fertilization in the greenhouse of the Mediterranean.
