Semi-transparent photovoltaic technologies for technologically advanced greenhouses: the case study of an aquaponic greenhouse in a circular economy

Abstract
Reducing energy demand and dependence on fossil fuels is crucial for improving the sustainability of greenhouses, which are the most energy-integrated systems in the agricultural sector. Renewable technologies represent a key option to meet the energy demand in greenhouses, especially the most technologically advanced ones, in which synergistic and complementary productions (aquaponics, fish farming) can be implemented according to the paradigms of the circular economy.
The organic solar technology, based on polymeric-based printable inks, which unlike traditional systems, offers the possibility of semi-transparency, mechanical flexibility, lightness, low costs and low environmental impact.
